As the head of Thin Modem Solutions for ST-Ericsson, it is with great pleasure that I can share some exciting news. Today, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) unveiled their annual awards recipients for the CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards and the ST-Ericsson Thor™ M7400 LTE/HSPA+ thin modem was selected as an honoree in the Embedded Technologies product category.
The Thor family of small and power efficient thin modems is designed to bring ubiquitous and ultra-fast mobile broadband connections to slim form factor and low power smartphones, tablets and other connected devices.
This award shows growing momentum and industry recognition for our Thor family of thin modems. Just last month, Motorola and AT&T announced the release of the Motorola ATRIX™2, the first Motorola smartphone featuring a ST-Ericsson Thor 21Mbps thin modem. Within days of the product’s announcement, the Motorola ATRIX™2 seems was dubbed best smartphone, winning the Best of CTIA Fall 2011 award.
We look forward to sharing future awards and design wins with you.
